I started writing when I was seven and from there it’s only gotten worse. I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and then moved to Ithaca to attend Ithaca College. Since then, I’ve written several short stories, such as The Employee’s Unicorn and Redress of Grievances. I have also written for Ithaca College’s official newspaper, The Ithacan. When I’m not writing, I’m usually musing on my blog or listening to Jane Remover.
I’m especially interested in the intersection of politics and the individual, 20th century history, and loneliness. I try to make my writing conscious of its purpose; everything I write is consciously argumentative, whether I’m more upfront about it (like my Akira piece) or I go an allegorical route (like in my unicorn story). I believe that there’s no such thing as an artwork that says nothing, the only real difference is whether or not an artwork is aware of what it’s saying.
Outside of writing, I also enjoy making maps for imaginary political situations, reading Roberto Bolaño, Joan Didion, and Torrey Peters stories, participating in organizations on campus, and coding webpages like this one.
